Even though it isn't cooling off very much and the leaves aren't changing colors, we are still enjoying the Halloween festivities. We were able to get a pumpkin carved between busy study sessions and hours in the office. But unfortunately we did it a little early, out of excitement, and had to
already toss it. It was fun while it lasted. Then the other night we went to a Halloween costume party as Tron characters and yep you guessed it, totally won the best couples costume prize. Okay, it was napkin, but still awesome! Adam wished he could have gone dressed as the Riddler, but I found it a little revealing.
So we decided to get out of the city and hike, hoping to find some source of running water. It took us an hour to drive to the Tonto National Forest where we found a stream for Scout to splash around in. It was a nice break to get out into the mountains, but Arizona mountains are a little different than those of Utah. Every bush/tree/shrub has thorns that are very unforgiving. Scout is still not used to that. Also, the other day, we were walking to the park when we passed a patch of grass where a naked man was standing on his roof chucking oranges into the field. Out of shock we quickly turned and hurried to the park, but I couldn't resist to go back the next day and get pictures of all the oranges that were scattered all over the field.
quarter of the way closer to being a podiatrist. Can you believe it? We are nearing the point where we cannot see the light beaming from the entrance of the tunnel. To celebrate such a momentous occasion, we spent an incredibly beautiful day up in Prescott, Arizona. Amazingly enough, it wasn't too far of a drive and we were free from cactus covered hills. Honestly, there is nothing better than pine saturated mountains with scattered oak trees. Brilliant yellow leaves spotted the green slopes. It was spectacular. We were in heaven! In addition to celebration of finals being over, we really wanted to adventure out with the newest addition to our family, Scout. She is a 9-week-old Mini Australian Shepherd who seriously has stolen our hearts. Her striking appearance caught our attention from the get go, but since then her puppy energy and sparkling personality has truly made it feel like she was meant for us. She marched up the trail behind Adam as if she was part of his shadow. Surprisingly enough, she made it about a little more than two miles up the trail before she tuckered out and luxuriously rode back in the backpack. The best part about it was watching Adam's reaction when we found a patch of snow and Scout dove right in as if she were a little polar bear. He was beaming from ear to ear. We have a little snow lover. She must have Wood blood in her.
